Spring Break 2009

We had a great spring break. Friday night we started for Utah. We stayed at a hotel that was about half way to Alpine. It started to snow as we arrived. We headed for the swimming pool which was inclosed, but in the middle of the parking lot. Of course we had to challange the kids to run around the building and then jump back into the pool and hot tub. It was quite entertaining to watch, as we could see them most of the way around!

Saturday we went the rest of the way to Alpine. We hit some bad weather, but no problems. We LOVED seeing so much of our family. Lots of new members to meet and cuddle as well. Saturday night Gregory got to go to the conference center and a social afterwards with Uncle Gary. He says he sat in the ciorner most of the time. "Too many important people" he said. (Uncle Gary hangs out with the General YM Presidency.) Darrell and Gariet headed to watch it at the stake center, and the girls in the family gathered from all over Utah Valley to paint toenails!

Monday we visited BYU and took a campus tour. The kids even got free shirts. We visited my aunt and uncle while in the area too. In the evening we made a visit to our friend Sabrina.

Tuesday we headed to "the property". My nephew Aaron is doing a lot of work, and the lodge is almost done. It is a fun place. We planned on 4-wheeling while there, but the weather was so awesome the kids ended up in the river for the majority of the day! Darrell even got to fish.

Wednesday Darrell went to work at an office near SLC, so the kids and I went to temple square and did some things we hadn't when we were there a couple of years ago. When Darrell was done working we took him to the airport. (Thanks Kyle and Suzanne for getting him at the other end!) Darrell called while we were there and said that the house had funded. YEA!! Finally!

Thursday was a down day, staying at home and playing with all the kids that came to visit Grandma that day! It snowed a bit in Alpine this day, making it a very diverse weather week. Darrell got the KEYS. Happy day!!

Friday the kids got up (except Sean) and went to seminary. Their cousin Ryan teaches at the HS, and Friday id early morning make-up day! They LOVED it. Erin wanted to know if she could go here too! After they got h ome, we headed to the Air Force base to visit the Cheesmans who were in Utah too. Fun, fun!! Brooke's little Mason is of course adorable too. I was excited to see a Hobby Lobby there and ran in to pick up some deco for the new house. I LOVE that store and miss it a ton.
Friday night it was sitting around eating pizza and watching videos to just chill together before we left. I love being close enough that we can make these visits!!

Excellent travel weather on Saturday and we made impressive time home. When we got to town, the appliances had all been delivered to the new house already, and I went over for the carpet guys! YEA!!!

To sum up spring break...Family, Fun, Friends, KEYS!!
